The Old Net Loft, 2 Water Wynd, Pittenweem, Fife, KY10 2LD. OPEN 10AM – 5PM DAILY

PRIVATE VIEW FRIDAY 27TH JULY 7-9PM. OPEN DAILY 10-5PM

During October 2011, seven photographers were invited to undertake a photographic residency at the Old Church in Pittenweem. Travelling from as far afield as London, Gothenburg, and Paris the strangers came together to develop their practice through engagement with the local environment and of course one another. Their aim was to produce new, independent bodies of work that were in some way connected to the East Neuk of Fife and in particular the village of Pittenweem. For some, this involved developing their existing art practice; for others it was a complete break from the norm involving new methods of working.

This group exhibition brings these photographers together once more in the exciting pop-up exhibition venue of the Old Net Loft in Pittenweem harbour, where for nine days they will show their work as part of the 2012 Pittenweem Arts Festival. Portraiture, Social Documentary, Staged Photography, Photojournalism, and Still Life – all these forms coalesce to provide a multi-dimensional viewpoint on local life in the East Neuk.

The exhibition runs from 28th July until 5th August in Pittenweem. OPEN 10AM – 5PM DAILY
